The Weather
The summer season, between June and August are typically the warmest months to visit. With temperatures ranging from 40°- 90°F, you’ll want to pack for both spring and summer. Clouds and rain are common, particularly in the south and along the coastline. While you should still check the weather forecast in the days leading up to your trip, anticipate packing for both cold and warm climates.
Layers are Essential
Particularly for Alaska, packing layers is the best way to ensure you’ll be comfortable throughout your trip. Long sleeve and short sleeve tees, pants and shorts, sweatshirts, and light jackets. You may find yourself wearing all of your layers in the same day.
Be Prepared for Rain
Alaska is in the Pacific Region where rain can be quite common. Bringing rain gear can really help to remain comfortable throughout your trip. Pack a few options, a rain jacket, umbrella, and water resistant shoes. Or just some extra pairs of shoes and socks.
