Start off your trip with something easy, some classic French food and visiting some historical cathedrals. Have lunch at Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, then take a walk to Sainte-Chapelle and Notre Dame. End the day with a sunset stroll along the River Seine.

Sainte-Chapelle: Originally built in the 13th Century to house the Crown of Thorns, this Gothic style chapel is blanketed in stained glass. Absolutely breathtaking to behold

Notre Dame: This historic landmark is still under construction after a catastrophic fire in 2019, but it’s set to reopen to the public in December 2024. If visiting beforehand, the view from outside is still worth seeing. 

Head out on a day trip outside of the city to see the gardens that inspired Monet’s Water Lilies, followed by a tour of the Palace of Versailles. Book a group tour to keep the day free of any transportation stress.

House of Claude Monet: See where Monet painted his famous water lilies, such a beautiful experience.

Palace of Versailles: Home of French kings dating back to the early 1600s, this ornate palace was named a UNESCO world heritage site and is well worth a visit.

Check out the ultimate classics this day, exploring the Louvre and Eiffel Tower.

Eiffel Tower: Whether you choose to go to the top or grab some wine and cheese for a picnic on the lawn, the Eiffel tower is a must do for first timers. If you do want to go to the top, be sure to get tickets in advance to avoid the line.

The Louvre: Home to the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, the Louvre is an incredible museum to visit. Don’t try to see it all in one day, grab a map and pick your favorites. Getting your tickets online in advance will save you a considerable amount of time in line.

Check out the catacombs of Paris, followed by an afternoon in Montmartre, exploring Basilica and the neighboring streets. Top off the night with a dinner cruise along the River Seine.

Catacombs: A dark and interesting tour to take, the history of the catacombs dates back to the eighteenth century.

Basilica at Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre: Sitting at the top of a hill in Paris, this area of Montmartre makes for an incredible view of the city. See local artists selling their work and check out the beautiful Basilica.

Take one last day trip.

Option One: For the Disney fan, there is no prettier park than Disneyland Paris. Take the RER train to the Marne-la-Valee/Chessy stop, located right at the front gates of the park.

Option Two: Experience the Champagne region of France on a full day guided tour.
