Every part of a vacation should be fun, including the transportation. Renting a car can not only be expensive, but also add on extra frustrations with traffic, navigation and parking. Take a car-free vacation and really feel the escape from every day living.
1. Bar Harbor, Maine
Located on the edge of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor Maine offers a combination of great food, lodging, and easy access to access to the National Park.
Spend some time in town, enjoying the local shops and eating all the lobster you can handle. When ready to venture out, you can take the free shuttle into the park.
How to Get There:
Fly into Bar Harbor/Hancock County airport (BHB). The Island Explorer bus can take you directly into the city during the summer and fall.
1. San Francisco, CA

How to Get There:
Fly directly into the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). An Uber or taxi can take you directly into the city.
3. Mackinac Island
Escape back in time at this Northern Michigan island. Carriage rides, biking, and walking being the only forms of transportation. Known for their delicious fudge and state park.
How to Get There:
You can leave your car in St Ignace or Mackinaw City and take a ferry to the island, or fly and take a shuttle.
For flights: take a direct flight from Detroit to the Chippewa County International Airport (CIU), then the Northern Transport & Shuttle to the ferry docks. Alternately, fly into the Pellston Regional Airport (PLN) and take the Mackinaw Shuttle to the ferry docks.
4. New York, NY
Not many cities in the world can rival New York. You can spend months here and never run out of things to do. Countless neighborhoods, restaurants, and museums to explore.
How to Get There:
There are three major airports that service the city, John F. Kennedy International (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark International (EWR). All airports have taxis and Ubers available into the city. If flying into JFK, you can also take the subway.
5. DisneyWorld, FL
Known as the “Disney bubble,” this is the ultimate vacation for any Disney fan. You’ll have 21 hotels on property to choose from and four parks to explore. Free transportation options around DisneyWorld include ferries, monorails, gondolas, and buses.
How to Get There:
Fly into the Orlando International Airport (MCO). From the airport, Mears Connect offers a shuttle service. You can also hire a Minnie van through Disney or take a taxi/Uber.
6. Las Vegas, NV
Las Vegas can be so much more than gambling and nightlife. Whether lounging by the pool, taking a helicopter to the Grand Canyon, or getting lost in the beautiful decor and shops of the hotel-lined strip, you can have whatever type of trip you want.
How to Get There:
Fly directly into the Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). You can choose a taxi or Uber from there, or a car service for a more luxe option.
7. Key West, FL
If looking for a laid-back trip, Key West is your spot. A great spot for water activities galore and incredible key lime pie. A golf cart or walking can take you anywhere on the island you want to go. Check out Ernest Hemingway’s house to see the 60 cats that live on property.

Fly directly into Key West International Airport (EYW) and a taxi/Uber into town.
8. Seattle, WA
Seattle is brimming with things to do. Known for art, music, coffee and markets, you’ll have plenty to enjoy in the city. Enjoy a hike or whale-watching tour for a more adventure-filled trip.
How to Get There:
Fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Take the Link Light Rail train or a taxi/Uber into the city.
9. Chicago, IL
